The Department of Pathology has 16 positions for our 4-year combined Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency Program, currently the only pathology.to educate our residents to the concept that medicine only progresses and expands by our important contributions and collaborations in both research and education. The Department of Pathology at LSU Health Sciences Center-New Orleans offers a fully ACGME accredited residency characterized as a combined Anatomic and Clinical (AP/CP) Pathology training program.

In CBD, the previous structure which divided the programs into PGY years will instead be replaced by the following 4 stages. During residency, residents acquire a sound basic background in pathologic principles before continuing training in general pathology or concentrating in a specialized area.
